Every year my Advent devotionals have included family projects that can be completed during the season. This year, the Advent project is to make or decorate a set of Christmons for your Christmas tree.
Christmons are special symbols that are related to some aspect of Jesus. For example, the lamb signifies that Jesus is the Lamb of God, and the crown symbolizes His deity. They are traditionally white and gold, which remind us of Christ’s holiness and majesty. Doing this craft project through the season of Advent gives an opportunity to learn more about Jesus and all that He is to us.
In this year’s Advent book, there is a link to a set of templates that can be downloaded and printed. However, I asked my friend The Whimsical Woodworker (aka Tyler Adsit) to custom make a set of wooden Christmons especially for my readers. Tyler did just that! The wooden ornaments that he has made match the patterns that I’ve provided in the book- and they look great!
This is your opportunity to WIN a set of these beautiful ornaments. They are just as you see in the photo above- unfinished and ready for your family to decorate during Advent.
Here’s how to win them…
All you need to do is send me an email at thisroadhomeblog@gmail.com, or a private message on Facebook, and answer the following question:
In my book, The Wondrous Gift, which three Christmons are meant to be completed on the first Sunday of Advent, the Season of Hope. Hint: This can be found in the Observing Advent at Home section of the book.
Everyone who emails me with the correct answer will be entered into a drawing to win the set. The drawing will take place on Saturday, November 16, at 9:00 AM.
You can also order a set of these ornaments directly from Tyler. Just message him via his Facebook page .
