Isaiah 9:6-7, Colossians 3:1-4, Jude 24-25
Do you feel the clock ticking down to Christmas like I do? It seems with every tick there is another item added to my to-do list. There are so many things I want to do to observe the season of Christ’s birth, but time is just too short.
I wrote yesterday that busyness is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as we don’t overlook the importance of what we celebrate this time of year. But there is another reason why busyness is a good thing for me.
Busyness requires me to be a good steward of my time, and this is important because I can be an amazing time waster! Laziness, distraction, and focusing on unimportant things can pull me away from doing things that are of a higher priority.
And the thing is, Christ’s kingdom is not just for two months each year- it’s an everlasting Kingdom. Every minute that I spend here on earth is an investment into that kingdom. I want to be a wise steward, investing my time in pursuits and relationships that are going to have an eternal impact.
